Wildcats pause to celebrate title

One by one, Kansas State players sauntered onto midcourt on Monday night. Rodney McGruder was the last one to take the floor, and under the spotlight, the senior first-team All-Big 12 selection carried a little something shiny high above his head in a darkened Bramlage Coliseum. Less than 48 hours after No. 11 K-State incurred a spectrum of emotion, the Wildcats surfaced wearing smiles the size of the Flint Hills. Armed with the program's winningest regular season in history, K-State hoisted its first league championship trophy in 36 years.
