K-State offense struggles to get in sync
AUSTIN, Texas -- The play really hadn't worked with much success all night, but Kansas State seemed adamant about leaving the ball in the hands of its playmaker that kept the hope alive in the huddle and on the visiting sideline. The opening was there, too, and all Jake Waters needed to do was tuck the ball and plunge forward towards the end zone. But instead of scoring the rushing touchdown to help cut the deficit late in the fourth quarter Saturday night at Texas, the junior quarterback lost the handle and fumbled away the chance of a potential comeback.
