Top Buffs: No. 2 Terrence Wheatley

BuffStampede.com For the second time in his college career, Terrence Wheatley played the majority of a season with a badly injured wrist in 2006. The stellar cornerback went in for surgery the day following the Nebraska game. It was the fourth surgery on his right wrist, and hopefully the last.
Wheatley's performance on the field last fall as a junior did not suggest he was playing through a serious injury. Wheatley was named first-team all-Big 12. He recorded 52 tackles along with a team-best five interceptions and 11 pass break ups.
"I played through a lot of pain but I was having such a good season, I really wanted to focus on going out there and kind of proving people that even though it still hurts it's not a problem," Wheatley said during spring ball.
