Fall football camp is open at Kansas State, and like the bell ringing to usher in the start of a prizefight, there are some crucial position battles that are currently underway behind the locked gates of Bill Snyder's K-State camp. How good this team becomes remains in doubt, but if each of these battles is answered with a clear winner who earns the job because of his own respective excellence, then Snyder's new K-State team may be well on its road to a surprising 2009 season.
