Spartans one of early favorites for Burgett
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - FORT WAYNE - While the class of 2011 has plenty of options for the Michigan State coaching staff, the Spartans are also hard at work evaluating players in the junior class.
The annual Bill Hensley Memorial Run-and-Slam tournament in Fort Wayne featured a solid pool of talent from the class of 2011. But there was even more talent on display from the classes of 2012 and 2013.
One player from the class of 2012 that the Spartans have their eye on is 6-foot-8 forward Austin Burgett from Avon, Ind. An athletic forward with a solid overall game, Burgett played up with the Spiece Indy Heat 17's throughout the weekend.
Burgett is active on the boards and he runs the floor well. The talented junior is also developing rapidly as an inside outside scoring threat. Burgett was a factor on the glass on both ends of the floor for Indy Heat and showed plenty of speed and quickness in getting up and down the floor.
