Arizona QB getting looks
There are a lot of things that go into being a signal caller and one of the most overlooked is intelligence. The best quarterbacks have been like coaches on the field. One quarterback who has both these qualities is Bryan Berens (6-2, 210, 4.9) from Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy College Prep.
"Bryan has a good arm and is very smart," Brophy College Prep coach Scooter Molander said. "We run a pro-set offense and it is somewhat complicated, but he understands the offense. Bryan is like a coach on the field.
"Bryan is very poised and plays well under pressure," Molander said. "As a sophomore, Bryan led our team down the field for a 99 yard drive to win the State Championship against Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton 15-14.
Berens was an all-district selection after throwing for over 2,100 yards and 22 touchdowns as a junior. He just missed the school records in both yards and touchdowns thrown. He could of easily passed both records but because of blow outs Berens left the game early in the third quarter in eight games.
