Denver back has offers

Illinois got a verbal commitment from Denver Mullen quarterback Clint Brewster last summer but the QB decided to follow his dad Tim to Minnesota when the former Illini tight end took the head coaching job in Minneapolis last winter.

Persistence pays off in the recruiting world so don't look for the Illini coaches to skip Mullen just because they missed on one player. In fact, they've already offered 6-foot, 190-pound Mullen standout Jonathan Gaye a scholarship.

He has offers from Illinois, Colorado State, Air Force, Wyoming and New Mexico State. Others showing interest include Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Kansas State, Georgia, Utah and Washington State.
