Kansas State’s 79-75 win over then-No. 7 West Virginia last Saturday did a few things for the Wildcats. It put K-State just on the verge of the top 25 rankings, it gave the Wildcats their first signature win on a tournament resume that did not have one yet and it vaulted them into a three-way tie for third place in the Big 12.

“It’s great,” sophomore guard Barry Brown said about the win. “Especially being on this team last year and not being able to get over the hump. That whole year of maturity like coach talked about and just courage and being able to come out with the win at home against a team like West Virginia.”

Now, after an undefeated week in Big 12 play, K-State is trending upwards and it looks to be a promising season moving forward. That is, unless the Wildcats settle for where they are now.
