Felder granted medical hardship

The Kansas State Department of Athletics has been notified by the Big 12 Conference office that linebacker Antonio Felder has been granted a medical redshirt/hardship waiver for an injury that occurred during the 2007 season at Butler County Community College.
Felder, a native of Warner Robbins, Ga., will now be listed as a sophomore for the remainder of 2008 and will have two years of eligibility remaining after this season.

"We have been pleased with Antonio's development and contributions this season," head coach Ron Prince said. "He continues to improve and progress in all areas of his game and this extra year will benefit him individually as well as the entire organization."
The 6-2, 253-pound linebacker was injured during the first game of the 2007 season at Butler County and missed the remainder of the year. The NJCAA approved a medical redshirt for Felder, but as NCAA bylaws require, the process had to be reviewed and approved by the Big 12 Conference once Felder enrolled at Kansas State.
Felder has appeared in seven games this season for the Wildcats and has collected three tackles and one pass breakup.
