GoPowercat.com is pleased to announce the hiring of two new staff members to further enhance the site's coverage of Kansas State athletics. The additions to the staff will increase GoPowercat's multimedia capabilities, including the addition of regular video features.

Shane Howard, a Kansas State senior, joins the staff as GoPowercat Video Editor. Howard's duties will include producing regular video reports and hosting a weekly show featuring the GoPowercat staff. That yet-to-be-named show will debut this fall. Howard previously worked for KSNT-27 in Topeka. Howard will also assist in the coverage of recruiting.

Also joining the staff is Robert Cassidy, who will be a staff writer for both GoPowercat.com and Powercat Illustrated. Cassidy will cover Kansas State football, as well as men's and women's basketball. In addition, he will assist in future GoPowercat podcasts and with recruiting coverage. Cassidy, a 2006 graduate of K-State, previously served as the sports editor of the Woodward (Okla.) News.

Both Howard and Cassidy will make their debut for PI/GPC at Saturday's K-State football media day.
