With the mailing of the 2003 football season ticket renewal forms, the Kansas State Athletics Department has revealed the schedule for the upcoming season. The eight game home schedule season ticket price has been set at $285 per seat.
The final game added to the eight-game home slate was Division I-AA McNeese State. The Cowboys, runners-up to Western Kentucky for the 2002 NCAA I-AA championship, will travel to Manhattan for a game Sept. 6. It will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.
"We are very pleased to be able to add a team the caliber of Kansas State to our schedule," McNeese athletic director Sonny Watkins said. "This is the fourth year in a row that we have been able to play a top division I power and I can tell you that it certainly generates a lot of excitement with our student athletes and our fans."
The Cowboys played Nebraska in 2002, Texas A&M in 2001 and Miami, Fla. in 2000.
Other home contests include the home opener, Aug. 30 against Troy State. The Trojans finished the 2002 season with a 4-8 record. The University of Massachusetts comes to the Little Apple the week after McNeese for the Wildcats' third game of the season.
Marshall University completes the non-conference portion of the Wildcats' schedule with a Sept. 20 visit to KSU Stadium.
The Thundering Herd have won the Mid America Conference title five of the last six seasons, and have had three Heisman Trophy candidates in that time frame including last year's finalist quarterback Byron Leftwich.
The home slate will also feature Big 12 Conference games against Baylor, Colorado, Kansas and Missouri. The road conference contests will feature trips to Iowa State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Texas.
