K-State lands junior college LB Rahsaan York

It took a while but Kansas State has finally landed its junior college linebacker in the class. The Wildcats struck out three times – with Je’Vari Anderson (committed to UCLA), Will Honas (signed with Nebraska) and Vernon Dasher (signed with Ole Miss) – but the fourth time was the charm in this case.

Rahsaan York has picked the Wildcats over Kansas. Ole Miss was also in the picture but he did not end up taking that official visit.

From American River College in Sacramento, York visited Manhattan over the weekend to seal the deal with K-State. Assistant Blake Seiler went to California several times to meet with York and all of that attention since the season ended has paid off.

The three-star recruit also had offers from Iowa State and Fresno State in addition to K-State, KU and Ole Miss.

He is on the shorter side for a linebacker – standing at just six feet – but makes up for it with his physicality. But the biggest attraction is obviously his ability to play right away, which is what the Wildcats were searching for at the position since October.

In a class that they need to load up at linebacker, York becomes the first pledge at the position and we’re already at the end of January.
