Orris to transfer from K-State

Freshman guard Michael Orris has elected to transfer from the Kansas State men's basketball program, head coach Bruce Weber announced Monday.
"Michael has decided to leave K-State," said Weber. "Over the past week, he and I have had several discussions about his future and he thinks this gives him the best chance to be successful. He is a quality young man who I have known for a long time, so I wish him nothing but the best as he moves forward with his life."

A 6-foot-2, 190-pound point guard from Crete, Ill., Orris saw action in 15 games for the Wildcats in 2012-13, averaging 0.3 points on 50 percent shooting with 0.5 assists in 3.3 minutes per game. He scored a season-high two points against Alabama-Huntsville on Nov. 13 and Gonzaga on Dec. 15.
"I have really enjoyed my time at K-State," said Orris. "It is difficult to leave my friends, teammates and coaches, but I think this decision is the best for my future in basketball. I will always be appreciative of the opportunity given to me by Coach Weber to come here and the support by all those involved at K-State."
