Not that it comes as a huge shock, but Fort Scott C.C. safety Tancey Richardson has chosen to open up his recruitment and de-commit from Kansas State.

Richardson committed to K-State as a high school recruit in South Carolina but was unable to qualify and make it to campus on time. He stayed aligned with the Wildcats ever since, even after trips to multiple junior college programs.

But, the commitment is no more.

When reached by KSO to get clarity on the Tweet above, Richardson confirmed he is no longer committed to the Wildcats.

He has attracted a ton of interest since arriving in Fort Scott C.C., but no new offers of significance have come his way recently. It is believed, according to sources, that this break-up is indeed mutual.

Will K-State still want to pursue a junior college defensive back? It definitely seemed like the case at one point but, in fact, that may no longer be accurate. After adding two in January with Darreyl Patterson and Kevion McGee - and the emergence of Jahron McPherson – the need to replace Kendall Adams after the 2018 regular season may not be as dire as once predicted.

Stay tuned to KSO for the latest.
