Kansas State broke ground on the 2022 class on Friday morning when Eudora athlete Silas Etter committed to the Wildcats. He is a 6-foot-2 junior that has growth potential and can project to a number of different positions.

Etter didn't waste much time in making the decision to stay home and play his college football in Manhattan. He was offered by K-State on November 20 after a conversation with Chris Klieman.

Two weeks later, he hops on to become the first member of the Wildcat class and does have intentions to be the ringleader that attracts the abundance of other local talent to follow him in the 2022 cycle.

That is a bit of a stark change of plans in a short amount of time. A week ago, Etter told KSO that he was strongly considering waiting to make his college choice to see what other opportunities could be thrown his way.

Because of that, it can be speculated that Kansas State closed really hard and had some conversations with him since that moment to switch his gears a bit.

In terms of his future position, that is still to be determined. How his body matures and develops will dictate much of that. Possible spots include wide receiver, linebacker, nickel and safety.
