Diaz elects to transfer from program

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Sophomore forward Adrian Diaz has decided to transfer from the Kansas State men's basketball program, head coach Bruce Weber announced Monday.
"Adrian has made the decision to leave K-State," said Weber. "After visiting with his family the past few weeks, he has expressed an interest in playing closer to his home in Miami. Although I'm disappointed that he is leaving, we wish him the best with his future. It has been a pleasure having him in the program."

A 6-foot-10, 230-pound forward from Miami, Fla., Diaz averaged 2.9 points on 54.8 percent shooting with 1.9 rebounds per game in 49 career games from 2011-13. He scored a career-high 11 points at Texas on Feb. 11, 2012, while he grabbed career-best 10 rebounds against North Florida on Nov. 18, 2012.
"This has been a tough decision," said Diaz. "However, after talking with my family, I would like to continue my basketball career closer to home. I have really loved my time at K-State and will miss my coaches and teammates."
Diaz leaves K-State with two years of eligibility remaining in his career, including a redshirt season.
