KSO is going to help you get to know all of the members of the 2018 Kansas State recruiting class who were not present for Spring Football.

We continue this series with in-state defensive tackle signee Jaylen Pickle.

1. When do you plan to get to Manhattan?

We report June 3, but I plan on trying to move in June 1 so I can settle in and get moved in.

2. What’s your height and weight right this moment?

I am 6-foot-5, 280 pounds.

3. What fellow recruits/current players are you talking most with?

Probably John (Holcombe), Spencer (Trussell) and (Christian) Duffie.

4. What have you been working on since your season ended?

I have worked on my hands a lot and my footwork.

5. What would you need to get better at to play early?

Probably my footwork.

6. What are your goals for your first season?

My first season I want to see the field and get used to the pace of the game before I push to make a big impact on the team and defensive line, and I want to get stronger than I already am.

7. Tell me something people think is unique about you?

A lot of people are amazed by my speed. Not a lot of people that are as heavy as me run as fast as me, and I am also on my high school 4-x-100 team.

8. What school finished second in your recruitment?

I would have to say probably UCF, before Coach (Scott) Frost and his crew left. They showed me a lot of love. They also showed a lot of love when they got to Nebraska, but KSU was already home.

9. What assistant are you the closest with?

Probably Coach (Travis) Britz.

10. What advice would you give to other recruits after going through the process?

Keep your head. A lot of schools will talk to you and tell you what you want to hear, but not all of it’s true. Talk to a player that's already on the team for the inside.
