It did not come easy, but Darreyl Patterson and Kansas State are now officially together.

The Two-time K-State pledge has faxed a signed NLOI to the offices in Manhattan to play for the Wildcats.

It was a bit of an adventure. He committed to K-State as a class of 2015 recruit and even showed up in The Little Apple for a short time.

However, he had to go the junior college route after not all of his academic work from high school checked out. Thus, he did not qualify.

After three years in Oklahoma playing for Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, he’s now ready to play in the Big 12. He is the second junior college defensive back in the class, joining his NEO teammate Kevion McGee.

He’s the 16th prospect to sign with Kansas State for the 2018 class. It is a group that consists of six defensive backs total. It is no secret what position received the most emphasis. It is believed that he will play the nickel corner spot or safety for KSU.

Patterson will have two years of eligibility to play two seasons.
