Kansas State safety Chandler arrested

Kansas State senior safety Gary Chandler was arrested on charges of driving on revoked license and obstruction of the legal process on Sunday, Sept 28. According to Riley County Police Department spokesman Lt. Kurt Moldrup, Chandler was pulled over while driving a 1970 Chevy El Camino with a passenger in the bed of the of the car, a violation of state law.
After being stopped, Chandler, who was eventually found to be driving on a revoked driver's license, provided a false name to the officer who stopped him. Chandler was also cited for the unlawful riding violation.
Chandler was selected as the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2007, and has played in all four games this season, despite losing his starting job to junior Courtney Herndon. Chandler, a Wichita (Kan.) native, recorded 54 tackles as a junior in 2007 and has registered 11 in decreased playing time through the first four games of 2008.
