Klein named Player of the Week

After accounting for four touchdowns in Kansas State's 52-13 victory over Miami on Saturday, senior quarterback Collin Klein has been named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The honor was Klein's second of his career after earning the nod following the Texas A&M game last season, while the Wildcats have picked up 10 league player of the week honors in the last two years.

Klein threw for 210 yards and a touchdown on 9-of-11 passing against the Hurricanes, an amazing 23.3 yards per completion. It was the most yards per completion since 2005, while he came away from the contest with a near-perfect 254.0 pass efficiency rating. The Loveland, Colo., product ranks third in the Big 12 and 10th nationally with a 173.68 efficiency rating through the first two games.
On the ground, Klein rushed for three scores - the 10th multi-touchdown game of his career - while totaling 71 yards on 22 carries. Klein ranks second nationally in career multi-touchdown games among active quarterbacks, while he leads all active quarterbacks with 30 rushing touchdowns since the beginning of the 2011 season.
