Like in the case of junior college cornerback Darreyl Patterson, there was some adventure involved, but Daniel Green has qualified and will make it to Manhattan to be a student and football player at Kansas State.

Green was a four-star recruit from Portland, Oregon in the class of 2017 that committed to K-State late in the cycle. He also signed with the Wildcats in February of 2017. However, due to academic insufficiencies, he was unable to enroll as a freshman in time to play during the 2017 regular season.

He was believed to make it in time for the summer but didn’t. He then hoped to make it to fall camp at KSU but didn’t. Green and his camp then felt like he had a chance to sign in December but didn’t. And during this time, the optimism that he would ever play for Kansas State was waning.

However, recently, we became aware that optimism had once again begin to rise in regard to his status. That has proved to be accurate with the news that Green will be a full participant for the Wildcats during spring football and be on the roster.

His addition is a big development. It helps bolster the younger classes at linebacker for Kansas State. The Wildcats are pretty thin in the middle on defense, especially. The combination of Green and the class of 2018 signees should give the program immediate help to alleviate the issue of depth and concern about class distribution.
