Surprise! Kansas State adds juco CB Kevion McGee

Kansas State has its Signing Day surprise. We thought it may come from a different direction but it actually arrives in the form of an additional cornerback. Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (NEO) recruit Kevion McGee was given a last-minute, quick offer from Tom Hayes and the Wildcats today.

Not only did McGee commit on the spot, he went ahead and signed with K-State as well.

The junior college cornerback is a teammate of fellow KSU pledge Darreyl Patterson. McGee is also a native of Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Hayes visited the powerhouse junior college program in Oklahoma on a few different occasions during the contact period. Most felt it was to show more attention and love towards Patterson but it was also to keep a line of communication open with McGee.

McGee becomes the 17th known commit of the class. He’s the third new addition of the day - the others are defensive tackle Derick Newton and fullback Luke Sowa. He’s the third junior college pledge of the class, joining Sowa and Patterson.

Stay tuned to our Kansas State Signing Day HQ for more information on how the Wildcats will finish the cycle.
