It finally happened.

Cartez Crook-Jones has made the long-awaited decision to flip his commitment from Kansas to Kansas State. The three-star defensive end took his official visit to Manhattan this weekend with his high school teammate Shane Cherry, who also committed this weekend. Four other commits were in town as well, and they had been making a push for the pass-rusher from Missouri for quite a while. It paid off.

Crook-Jones also visited K-State for the season opener against Central Arkansas, also alongside Cherry. The main recruiters for Crook-Jones were Collin Klein and Jon Fabris. Klein is a big and important staple to the Wildcats’ recruiting efforts in the Kansas City metro, while Fabris coaches Crook-Jones’ position.

The in-home visit from Klein last week sealed the deal for Crook-Jones, but if we’re being honest, he’d basically been aligned with Kansas State for a handful of months now.

He’s the 13th verbal pledge for KSU and the second defensive end in the group – joining Spencer Trussell of Arlington, Texas.

Again, for all the latest recruiting news and updates, keep it locked on our official visit weekend thread in The Foundation.
